# Home Gym Mirror Walls: Sizes, Layouts and Installation

**By CreoGlass** · 2026-09-29

A good home gym mirror wall helps you see your movement without making the room feel crowded. The most useful size depends on the exercises, the equipment and where you stand—not on a standard panel dimension.

## Start with the exercises and sightlines

For strength training, consider where you stand relative to the rack, bench or free-weight area. For Pilates, dance or mobility work, the wall may need a wider uninterrupted view. Mark these positions on a simple room plan before deciding how much glass is needed. See how this worked in [CreoGlass’s private training studio project at The Byre](/pages/private-gym-mirrors-barn-studio).

## Plan width, height and panel joints together

A full-wall effect can involve more than one panel. Joint locations should feel deliberate, especially where the wall includes a doorway, column, socket or change in ceiling height. The largest possible pane is not automatically the best layout: access into the room and safe handling matter too.

## Allow for the space around the mirror

Check skirting, wall condition, switches, radiators and any equipment fixed close to the surface. In a garage gym, consider how the room is used beyond exercise. A survey can establish the practical fixing and glass specification for the actual site.

## Use the room’s light to your advantage

Positioning a mirror to catch daylight can brighten the room, but avoid distracting glare where you train. In a studio setting, think about what participants see across the entire wall rather than from one camera angle.

## From home gym to professional studio

The same planning principles apply to larger Pilates, dance and commercial spaces, with greater emphasis on continuous sightlines, traffic and installation access.
