Questions
What is the difference between sliding and telescopic doors?
A sliding door moves along a track to one side. A telescopic set has three panels – two sliding panels that stack behind a fixed one – so it opens up a wide opening without needing much wall space. The sliding gear always comes with it.
What is the difference between frosted, reeded and fluted glass?
Frosted glass is sandblasted for a smooth, even, obscured finish. Reeded and fluted glass have vertical ribs that blur the view but let more light through; fluted ribs are wider.
Do you fit outside London?
We survey and fit inside the M25 and up to 20 miles beyond. Elsewhere we make your door to measure and deliver it, ready for your fitter.
Why is the price a guide?
Every opening is different. We confirm the exact sizes at the survey, then send your final price before anything is made. Installation is priced after the survey.
Can I have a fire-rated door?
Yes. Fire-rated (FD30) steel glass doors are available in three frame options. Tick the fire-rated box in the designer and we'll price your door individually at the survey.
What guarantee and aftercare do I get?
Every door comes with a 2-year product guarantee, on top of your statutory rights. When we install your door, we walk through it with you before we leave. Steel doors can settle slightly in the first weeks as they take their weight. If a door needs adjusting, for example it starts to catch the floor or doesn't close cleanly, we come back for a snagging visit and adjust it.
