Project Overview
A Fusion of Heritage and Contemporary Design
This private residence in Wales dates back to the 1600s and formed part of an extensive listed-building restoration. The objective was to preserve the historic character of the property while introducing a highly individual contemporary interior.
CreoGlass was consulted on the kitchen and subsequently developed a bespoke Japanese-inspired visual concept. The client wanted the room to feel immersive—as though entering a carefully composed Japanese garden rather than a conventional modern kitchen.
Original artwork was developed across the kitchen splashbacks, worktops, island and window reveals. Each glass section had to form part of one continuous composition, with imagery flowing between separate walls, corners and horizontal surfaces.
The scope later expanded to include digitally printed shower walls, shower enclosures, mirrors and additional decorative glass elements throughout the residence.

Technical Highlights
Engineering a Continuous Glass Interior
Creating a visually seamless interior required considerably more than producing individual glass panels. Every component had to be digitally designed, manufactured and installed with exceptional accuracy so that the artwork aligned perfectly across walls, worktops, window reveals and internal corners.

Rather than selecting a stock image, CreoGlass developed an original Japanese-inspired composition specifically for the proportions and layout of the property. Every visual element was positioned to flow naturally throughout the room.

Introducing contemporary architectural glass into a restored seventeenth-century home required a sensitive balance between historic character and modern design.
Artwork Alignment
The Japanese-inspired artwork continued across splashbacks, worktops, island surfaces, window reveals and adjoining walls. Even small dimensional differences would have disrupted the continuous design.
Multiple Glass Thicknesses
Different glass constructions were required throughout the project, including 19 mm glass worktops and 6 mm toughened splashbacks, each demanding different manufacturing techniques and installation tolerances.

One Design Language Across the Entire Home
Following the successful completion of the Japanese-inspired kitchen, the project expanded into several additional rooms. CreoGlass was commissioned to design, manufacture and install bespoke architectural glass throughout the property, creating a consistent visual identity from the kitchen to the bathrooms and private wellness spaces.
Luxury Shower Rooms
Large-format digitally printed glass transformed the shower areas into immersive feature spaces while providing a durable, hygienic and easy-to-maintain finish. Each design was individually selected to complement the surrounding interior.
Jacuzzi Feature Walls
The home's wellness area was enhanced with bespoke printed glass surrounding the jacuzzi, creating an underwater-inspired environment that extends the concept of immersive architectural interiors beyond the kitchen.
Coordinated Decorative Glass
Additional printed glass installations throughout the property demonstrate how bespoke architectural glass can provide continuity between individual rooms while allowing every space to retain its own unique identity.

A Bespoke Glass Interior Designed as One Continuous Composition
The completed installation creates a deliberate contrast between the historic structure of the property and its contemporary interior. Rather than treating the glass as a collection of separate products, every surface was developed as part of one coordinated visual system.
The Japanese-inspired artwork flows between the kitchen splashbacks, glass worktops, island and window reveals, creating the immersive garden atmosphere envisioned by the client. Precise surveying, artwork preparation and installation were essential to preserve the continuity of the design across numerous panels and intersecting planes.
The subsequent bathroom, shower and jacuzzi installations extended CreoGlass’s involvement into a broader architectural glass package. The project demonstrates our ability to develop an original concept and deliver it through design, manufacture and specialist installation across an entire residential property.
